Cheltenham Center for the Arts joins with Open Book and continues a new author reading and conversation series, Philly Writes! celebrating our fabulously diverse and prolific local writing community, Wednesday, February 8, 2012, from 7-8pm with Liz Moore, author of Heft. Moore, from New York, is a writer and musician and now resides and works in Philadelphia. Take this opportunity to listen to Moore read from this compassionate novel, and join in the conversation about the characters and writing process itself. Tickets are $10 adults/ $5 students. Connect with your community and support local authors during this new, fresh event at Cheltenham Center for the Arts. Whether you are an avid reader, writer or literary enthusiast, Philly Writes promises to engage your senses and fuel your mind.

Philly Writes! continues with a two local young adult authors on January 11, 2012, from 7pm-8pm. This is an excellent evening for parents and children to enjoy together.
Pat Raccio Hughes, author of Five 4ths of July and Catherine Gilbert Murdock author of Wisdom’s Kiss will read from their works and take questions and discuss their answers.
$5 students/ $10 adults.

These two books, although different in subject matter, combine the historical facts and literary backdrop to create works that fascinate and transcend time. $10 in advance/$12 at the door
