ORIENTATION
There will be a general orientation on the first day of each session from 9-9:20 am to introduce you to our staff and program. Please plan to attend
the orientation with your child. Orientation for afternoon only sessions will be held on the first day of each session from 12:30-12:50.
SNACK

The Center provides a snack for the five to six year old students during the camp program and for all After Care campers.

LUNCH
Full day students should bring their own lunch, clearly labeled, in a brown bag or lunch box. Lunches will be refrigerated. In good weather, lunch is eaten outside on the Art Center’s grounds.

DRESS
Students should dress for the sometimes messy work of active art projects. Smocks and towels for the pool should be marked with your child's name. On scheduled swim days, please send bathing suits and towels. We will change at the center before going to the pool.

EXHIBITIONS AND PERFORMANCES
There will be an exhibition reception and performance on the final Friday of each session, July 9, July 25, Aug. 6 and Aug 20, from 1-3 pm. Parents and friends are welcome. We'll share a treat and campers can take their creations home with them.

STAFF
Our program is staffed by Art Center faculty chosen for their ability as artists and teachers. Camp counselors are of college age and are hired based on their previous experience with children and art education. Junior counselors are of high school age. The staff child ratio is between 1:8 and 1:10. There are approximately 40-50 campers each session.

FACILITIES
The Cheltenham Center for the Arts is located at 439 Ashbourne Road in Cheltenham Village. The facility includes a spacious, well-lighted painting and drawing studio: a print-making studio with a press; ceramic sculpture studios with 10 wheels, 4 kilns; gas kiln and wood kiln. Students are taught the safe use of appropriate equipment under careful supervision. The Bernard H. Berger theater seats 100 and is used for some classes and for performances.  The theater and studio spaces are all airconditioned: the large gallery space which is occasionally used is not air conditioned. The Center is adjacent to the lovely Tookany Creek Park.
