Roberta Schlesinger is a master botanical artist and illustrator. Her depictions of flowers and plants have been critiqued as “exquisite - with a stunning attention to detail.” Her work has been shown in botanical art exhibitions, earning her Best of Show and 1st place awards from Ringling College, Florida Botanical Art Society and the International Water-gardening Society. She studied with master artist, Olivia Braida- Chuisano, and Ringling College of Art in Sarasota, FL.

 

Ms. Schlesinger is also a watercolor portraitist/collage artist whose creations have been included in the International “Embracing our Differences Exhibit” (2017 and 2019), chosen from 11,400+ entries from 41 countries. Her retrospective, solo show in Georgetown TX in March 2019 featured more than 70 works in two galleries.

 

Roberta is also a Montessori/International Baccalaureate art teacher/program director. She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and served as the exhibition chair for Capital City Scribes in Austin. Originally from WV, she lived for many years in MA, she has lived in FL and TX. Everywhere she lives, she draws and paints the flowers around her, from Florida’s tropical plants to the wildflowers of Texas. She now lives with her husband and children in their old/new home in Pennsylvania. She teaches adults and children in her Elkins Park Studio.
