Since its founding, the Cheltenham Center for the Arts (CCA) has served as a venue for high quality classesexhibitions and theater programs that have promoted regional artists and showcased the work of children, adults and outstanding faculty in our community.

At CCA we believe that the arts can offer to all ages a means to broaden your horizons, learn new skills and explore new ways of seeing the world. It is our goal to provide a creative environment to nurture that process.

Cheltenham Township: A Photographic Celebration will open on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 2-4pm. The exhibition will remain on view through October 17, 2015.
Join artist John Sevcik as he explores Paintings into Drawings on Mondays from 1pm-4pm. Use drawing as your research for paintings. Drawing has always been important to artists and constitutes a majority of many painters' work. This course helps you record your observations, use drawings from your personal sketchbook, as well as from imagination and memory to create the plan for a thought-provoking painting. The painted sketch will be an intermediate step to the larger painting. Painters who have used these methods include Arshile Gorky, Isabel Bishop, Rembrandt, Seurat, John Sloan, Thomas Eakins, and many more. Demonstrations will assist you in understanding the method and encouragement will be provided. Realist, expressionist, abstract and minimalist painters all welcome.
Join us for a beginning ceramic class. No experience necessary! We have a day and evening class! This class teaches the basics of wheel throwing, creating the basic cylinder and bowl forms. This class will concentrate on weekly projects designed by the instructor. The first session will focus on basic techniques of centering and throwing for beginners. Later there will be demonstrations in thrown and altered combining techniques. Try some decorative glaze techniques to enhance your surfaces! Class meets Wednesdays.
